Natalie "LittleGem" King and Robert "CyberDrac" King, are overjoyed to annouce the safe arrival of "Player 1" King.
"Player 1" was born at Medway Maritime Hospital at 05:05AM on Friday the 9th July 2010.
The history is that on Wednesday evening Natalie started to experience what she believed was indigestion or trapped wind, these got more serious and then to start the ball rolling her waters broke at 04:30AM on Thursday, contractions became more persistant and intense over the course of the day and the plans for the home water birth were well underway, however by 06:00PM the Midwife expressed concerns that there was a little more blood than she would have preferred and that the baby's heart rate dropped slightly during the contractions, not a huge obstacle but enough that a home birth was no longer the best option and so we decamped to the delivery suites at Medway Maritime Hospital at 11:00PM. What followed was four hours of contractions initially with no pain relief but eventually countered with gas and air, however towards the end Natalie opted for an Epidural as the Entonox simply wasn't cutting it any more. As the Epidural arrived on a trolley Natalie experienced an overwhelming need to push and before the Epidural could be administered the baby decided to take the lead and make a bid for freedom switching from 6cm dialted to ready to be delivery in an hour and seventeen minutes. An hour and fifteen minutes of incredibly brave effort my Natalie produced "Player 1" at 8lb2oz. I was proud to be able to cut the cord.
Natalie and "Player 1" are currently on the ward recovering and waiting for "Player 1" to realise that whilst attaching to a boob is one thing, sucking on it is actually a viable option. We hope that both of them can come home tomorrow.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks all the staff at Medway Maritime Hospital, especially Claire, and all the Community Midwives both fully trained and students, who were involved in "Player 1"'s safe delivery.
I would especially like to take this oppurtunity to thank Natalie for giving me the greatest gift that any human being can give another.
Rob "CyberDrac" King

Re: Birth Announcement
Everyone is home as of yesterday, and in good health, and for those who may be interested we chose the following name ...
Adam James King
... thank you for all your kind wishes, two of us appreciate them now, and I'm sure the third will appreciate it eventually.

Nice.
So, translating back to their original meanings, his name means:
"Man who supplants the King"
Beware, Rob. Beware.
